Miss Tamhankar has a great amount of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She completed her basic training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a busy hospital unit in Mumbai, India. Then she moved to the UK. There she was awarded her degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology following completion of specialist training in Sheffield. In addition, she spent two years studying the changes in emotional health during assisted conception treatment. This led to her being awarded an MD degree by the University of Sheffield.

Miss Tamhankar has been working as an NHS Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Jessop Wing, Sheffield Hospital. She sees her private patients at BMI Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield. She offers assisted conception procedures on a joint-care basis at Jessop Fertility. Miss Tamhankar’s special interest is in the assessment and treatment of male and female causes of infertility. She specialises in laparoscopic and hysteroscopy procedures for assessment and improvement of fertility. In addition, she provides individualised treatment plans for couples depending on their specific cause of infertility. Furthermore, she offers ultrasound scan assessment and treatment for pelvic pain, menstrual irregularities and endometriosis.
